"Pirates Dinner Adventure" TV commercial 2005

This was a commercial to promote the opening of the L.A. Pirates Dinner Adventure. We did a lot of makeups for this one. Grungy, dirty types of makeups with scars, missing or dirty teeth and scraggly hair. I did some tattoos, too. We shot for 2 days on this one. You can check it out at: http://www.piratesdinneradventure.com/video/

"Dead Tired" Runner up Best Overall in the Professional catagory of the O-36 film race 2005

Featured on "National Lampoon's Comedy Night School" Hosted by Doug Gordon

This was a 6 minute short that my crew (Digital Monster) made for the 2005 O-36 film race. We had 36 straight hours to write, shoot and edit a 3-6 minute film. I was the executive producer and team captain and I assembled a very talented and experienced crew. As soon as we got our assigned prop, line of dialogue and genre (which was Film Noir) the project was underway. As soon as we were done, we turned it in at 8:45pm (the deadline was 9:00pm).

"Coming Soon" First place winner in Wizard Magazine's "Direct-to-video" film contest 2004

I wrote, produced and co-directed this 4 minute parody. I also built a full-sized puppet and puppeteered it with an assistant. I also did the physical effects as well. We got together and shot this in a few weekends and had a lot of fun. Thanks again, Lee Everitt!!

"The Monster from the Closet" by Jeff Standard. Best in Catagory and Best Overall in Universal Studios Film Festival 2004 Watch it here on Ifilm: http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2649082

"The Last Will" Written and produced by Eric Miles and Charles Gray. Directed by Eric Miles.

This was a horror movie that had a lot of special makeup effects and blood tubing. I was the makeup department supervisor and had a talented crew. We created some pretty creative effects and had to rig one of them right there on the spot. It was a lot of fun to work with the entire cast and crew.

"The Pack" http://www.7m1.net/ Directed by Nathan McMahan

This was an interesting production. We had to go back and do two more pick up shot sessions. The makeups were intricate and the cast and crew were a lot of fun. I made the Wolf head and puppeted the effects. I had the cable controls in my hands and the bladder tubing in my mouth to inflate the bladders that moved the snout. The cables moved the left and right "sneer" action. The understructure is fiberglass with translucent polymer teeth. The face is foam latex glued down to the upper portion of the actor's face and the lower covers the understructure. I also made the latex cowl that attached the whole thing together and had large ears on it. I covered it in fur and hand-layed fur on the edges to blend it. The actor was also wearing large latex feet that I made.

"G.I.Joe" First place winner in Wizard magazine's "Direct-to-Video" contest.

This one was fun make. We shot in a lot of different locations and got quite a bit of footage. The effects, physical and digital, look great, the costumes were awesome and the fight scenes look flawless.

"Batman: Knightfall"

I got to design and create a Batman cowl for this one. I added some over-lapping armor plating on the back and covering the neck so that he could move his head around. But, it's not seen in the final edit. (D'oh!!) I did a Joker makeup, Penguin makeup (using a prosthetic by Jim Udenberg), I got to play two different characters in this one, too. One was the Mad Hatter, the other was a purse snatcher.

"Thundercats" First place winner in Wizard magazine's "Direct-to-Video" contest and "Hottest Comic Babe".

"CreatureQuest"

I honestly don't remember much from this production. I do remember spending a lot of time in my lab making the Yeti head and running a lot of foam latex, but as far as production, it's a blur. During production, I spent most of the time in the makeup room which was packed with people and makeup supplies and being covered in glue, hair, makeup mud and airbrush paint. I did go outside to eat lunch, watch some of the shoot and to help out with a wire effect stunt.

More to come soon.......
